ADVANCED STRESS BUSTER
STRETCHING ROUTINE
(After mastery of the basic routines)
This is very helpful for TMJ pain and discomfort of muscular origin. It may not help pure atherogenic (TMJ joint) pain, but most atherogenic TMJ issues have a vasculogenic component. Hence, it will likely help. Try it and see.
This is a structured routine that involves a downward relaxation stretches and a relaxation sideways stretch to each side. Perform these at least three times a day (morning, midday, and evening suggested). Each relaxation stretching session will take approximately 3 minutes.
Sit comfortably with head erect and back relatively straight. Elevate your chin slightly so that you are looking upward a bit.
Place the MyRelaxer soft tip on the top of the lower front teeth with the handle directly beneath the chin (letting the MyRelaxer shaft gently contact your chin) so that the downward traction is more or less parallel to the vertical axis of your teeth and gently pull downward allowing your jaw to drop and the muscles to gently stretch out while performing the slow and gentle measured breathing above, breathing in through your nose slowly and gently to a count of 4/5 and distending your belly, holding for a count of two and then breathing out gently to a count of 5/6.
** Continue the measured breathing while gently stretching downward for a total of 3 measured breaths. **
Place the MyRelaxer on the inside of the right lower teeth and exert gentle sideways traction with your elbow and arms more or less parallel to the ground. This may feel a bit cumbersome at first, but just find the most comfortable position of the tooth piece and gently stretch.
**Perform 3 slow and gentle measured breaths while performing the gentle right sideways relaxation stretch. **
Place the MyRelaxer on the inside of the left lower teeth and exert gentle sideways traction with your elbow and arms more or less parallel to the ground.
**Perform 3 slow and gentle measured breaths while performing the gentle right sideways relaxation stretch. **
Smile.
Feel the relaxation in your facial muscles and your brain.
That’s it!! You are done with one Advanced Stress Buster Relaxation Stretching session. Feel better?
